The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a government initiative in Great Britain aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, combating fuel poverty, and mitigating carbon emissions.
Mandated for energy companies, ECO4 targets the least energy-efficient homes, specifically those in bands D-G, addressing fuel poverty concerns. Additionally, a requisite number of privately-owned homes falling in energy efficiency bands E, F, and G will undergo upgrades throughout ECO4, emphasising efficiency improvements in the least energy-efficient properties.
The scheme is currently active until 31 March 2026.
